Twenty eight sites in SE Asia have been screened for suitability (re the Bf method) with an objective of selecting the top sites for implementation.  A track record of co-management agreements for protected areas, a general framework for public-private partnerships, MPA/MMA governance and management plans, current revenue models, tourism potential and potential support from public institutions are some of the elements that were examined. 5 sites have now been short-listed in 3 countries (Indonesia, The Philippines and Cambodia) with confirmation of support from local governments.
